Eye Doctors Serving Coweta and Fayette County
Dr. Bowser is the senior member of the Peachtree City Eye Center team. He joined the Eye Center in July, 1977 and has become a permanent part of many of the families who have enjoyed sharing their lives and families with him over the past thirty-six years.
Dr. Bowser was raised with the values of the heartland, growing up in Springfield, Ohio. He attended the University of Cincinnati and Ohio University. His undergraduate studies were in biology and pre-optometry. He went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in June 1977. He then joined the practice of Dr. Engram in Peachtree City.
During his years in practice, Dr. Bowser has aggressively continued his education. He attends a large number of continuing education classes each year. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and a charter member of the AOA’s contact lens section. He is a past district president and current member of the Georgia Optometric Association, past president of the Rotary Club of Peachtree City and is an active paticipant at Passion City Church where he is a door holder. Dr. Bowser has served on mission trips to Nicaragua with God’s Eyes, and plans to go on his next mission trip to Haiti in June. In 1995, Dr. Bowser was selected for Who’s Who of Professionals and Executives.
Dr. Bowser enjoys time with his family and has two grown sons. He enjoys Bible studies, reading Christian and professional materials, road bicycling, backpacking, walking, weight lifting, golf and snow skiing. He is a avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, loves talking college football and follows the Braves as well.
During the past 36 years, Dr. Bowser has worked closely with the ophthalmology and eye surgery practices of Dr. Floyd Davis, Dr. Barrie Thrasher, Dr. Daniel Hennessey and, since 1988, with Ophthalmologist James C. Hays, M.D of the prestigious Woolfson Eye Institute. Dr. Bowser looks forward to serving and caring for the next generation of Peachtree City, Fayetteville, Tyrone, Sharpsburg, Senoia and Newnan families and striving to be the eye doctor of choice from your family!
Punit Bhakta, O.D.
Dr. Punit Bhakta provides comprehensive vision care including routine exams and the treatment of various types of eye disease. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association.
Dr. Bhakta grew up in Biloxi, Mississippi. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from THE University of Georgia. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Optometry.
Dr. Bhakta completed a Residency in Ocular Disease and Refractive surgery with Woolfson Eye Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, where he learned to diagnose and treat rare forms of eye disease in one of the premier cornea clinics in the southeast.
In his free time, Dr. Bhakta enjoys rooting for the DAWGS each fall during college football season, playing golf, and enjoying different types of food. He currently resides in Dunwoody, with his wife.
James Hays, M.D.

Cataract Surgery, Corneal Surgery, Refractive Surgery
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Hays earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Hays completed both his internship and residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Hays completed his Corneal Fellowship in Ophthalmology at the prestigious Dean A McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Dr. Hays was founder of the Atlanta Eye Surgery Group, which merged with Omni Eye Services in 2001. He specializes in cataract and corneal surgery. He is available to see patients at Peachtree City Eye Center two Thursdays a month in a primary patient care setting. Dr. Hays has recently joined the Ophthalmology practice of Woolfson Eye Institute in Atlanta where his expertise and skill in cataract, corneal, and refractive surgery will add to one of the premier eye institutes in the southeast.

Eye Center Team Members
Kay
A native of Atlanta, Kay relocated to Peachtree City in 1972. She has been with the Eye Center since 1979 and is currently the back office manager and unofficial office historian.
Kay became an American Optometric Association certified ophthalmic assistant in 1990. She continually improves her knowledge with ongoing continuing education courses.
As administrator Kay performs far too many duties to list. On those rare occasions that she is not working, she can be seen around her home in the Summergrove area of Newnan with her husband Jim and their grandchildren.
Edna is a native of the island of Puerto Rico. She has worked in the eye care industry in the states of Florida and Georgia for over 20 years.
She has extensive experience in patient care such as pre-examination, special testing, optical and contact lenses. She is bilingual, fluent in Spanish.
She lives in Locust Grove, Georgia with her husband and 2 daughters. Edna looks forward to serving all of your eye care needs.
Cindy joined the eye center in February of 2011. Cindy is often the first face you will see entering our office. She is very friendly and handles many front desk tasks such as insurance verification.
She has had over 25 years of Customer Service and Management experience. Cindy is originally from Pennsylvania, but has lived in the southwest and southeast U.S. for the last 25 years.
She enjoys traveling with her husband and son, scrapbooking, and reading in her spare time. Cindy is also the bell choir director at her church.
Susan is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and relocated to Fayetteville, Georgia in 1997. She has worked in the eye care industry for over 7 years. Before that she worked as a certified Medical Assistant.
Susan has extensive experience in patient care and enjoys the opportunity of meeting all of your optical needs. She loves spending time with her daughter and two sons.
Some of her hobbies include camping and attending sporting events, especially Philadelphia Eagles games.
We are glad to have Hope on our team. She is often the first friendly face you will see welcoming patients when you enter our office.
She has worked in the eye care field for many years and is very knowledgeable in areas of insurance and much more.
She says her favorite part of eye care is being involved in a process that gives patients the ability to see their world in a whole new way.
Denise joined Peachtree City Eye Center in April of 2012. She has over 25 years of office management experience. She is proficient in performing pre-testing and special optometric testing at the eye center.
Denise is a native of Miami Lakes, FL. She currently resides in Peachtree City with her husband and two sons. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, and home decorating.
Amber joined the Peachtree City Eye Center staff in September, 2012. She performs a variety of administrative tasks and appreciates the opportunity to provide our patients with excellent customer service. She and her husband are residents of Peachtree City and enjoy leading the youth ministry at their local church.

Brenda
Brenda is a Georgia native. She joined out team in October 2012. Brenda has over 10 years experience in pre-examination, contacts, and optical needs.
Her hobbies are spending time with family, friends, and watching the Atlanta Falcons.
Emeritus Team Members
She is a certified optometric assistant and a member of the American Optometric Association.
Although now working on a part time basis, Brenda’s experience, skills and friendly smile make her a favorite of the Eye Center’s patients.
Brenda retired from her full time position at the eye center in April of 2012.
A native of Peachtree City, Laura “grew up” at the Eye Center where her mother, Kay, has worked since Laura was a year old.
Laura has been an employee of the Eye Center since 1997. She performs invaluable service keeping our insurance claims in order and also works at the front desk several days per week.
She retired in 2011 and now lives in Senoia, Georgia with her four children and husband Brad.
Bryan first started working with Peachtree City Eye Center as a full-time optician in 1989 and served the families of our area until his retirement in 2007 to work full time in his ministry of God’s Eyes to provide free prescription eyewear to those in need. Since then, Bryan has devoted his life to helping the less fortunate by being a leader for Gods Eyes. Bryan continues to be an integral part of Peachtree City Eye Center in his mission which we actively support financially and spiritually.
